[VIDEO] How to fight perfectionism with business English & speak naturally and confidently

Top-5 skills for HR professionals in 2021

Going for perfection or connection with your business English? 🤔 Discover the answer 👇

Let me ask you this: Imagine you are in a meeting at work, talking in English. There are two other colleagues taking part.

One is holding back because they don’t feel they can speak “perfect” English.

Despite their deficiencies, the other one makes mistakes but is more open and eager to speak, contribute, help, and connect.

Which one would you prefer? The perfectionist? Or the connector? 👀

I’m sure you know the answer. And it’s plain simple as that: speaking English at work means communicating.

#Perfectionism will not get you far as it strips you of the ability to connect with others and get your message across.

Even native speakers make mistakes & that’s normal. Perfectionism is not.

It’s deceiving because you think you strive for the best version of yourself.

But instead, you hold back, waiting for another time to speak or speak up because, yes, you will be able to speak more fluent English. 👎

Βehind perfectionism lies procrastination and fear most of the time. Watch out for the signs!

Perfectionism was my discussion topic with Gorana Sandric in the first edition of my “English with Purpose” talks video series.

She is an entrepreneur and HR coach and a fantastic person to talk to. 💓

Gorana talked about her insecurities with English at work, how she navigates through the hardships of speaking English as a non-native, & what are the essentials of nailing and enjoying talking in English.
